DBS certification

It is a very concerning fact that so many people report suffering abuse within religious organisations. This dreadful failure by leadership to protect innocent and vulnerable people is a scar on all Christendom.

The members of Holbeach Baptist Church are committed to protecting ALL who come through our doors from any form of abuse at the hands of those in a position of authority, and trust.

Consequently, Holbeach Baptist Church leaders and membership follow the Safeguarding procedure as set out in the guidance pages of the Baptist Union of Great Britain (BUGB) web pages www.baptist.org.uk

Members and volunteers working with vulnerable adults and young people will be required to submit to full DBS screening if they work alone.

New members or volunteers will only be permitted to work with individuals or groups when accompanied by a Church member with full DBS clearance, and not left alone with anyone, or any group.

Safeguarding leads will enforce this rule.

Regular safeguarding training and updates will be available to all members and attendees throughout the year.

Church Membership and Meetings

These are exciting times of growth for all the body of Christ, as there is an awakening of interest in the teachings of Jesus.

Church Meetings are a necessary part of making progress and growing together in what the Lord would have us do to reach the lost and build His Kingdom on earth.

Everyone can attend Church Meetings, but only members are permitted to cast a vote.

Joining the Church is very straightforward. Just ask! You need to have been attending regularly for at least six months. We will ask for a letter of recommendation from your previous Church leadership if you have come from another congregation.

If you are brand new to faith in Jesus and have no one to recommend you to the Church, don't worry!

You will still need to attend regularly for 6 months, and we will help you to complete the Alpha course, or a similar introduction for new Christians. If you want to be baptised in water, we can also arrange that.
